Workshop “Know Yourself First” at KROK Business School with Steve Alban Tineo

On November 28, 2025, KROK Business School hosted a workshop dedicated to the KYF© (“Know Yourself First”) method, led by Steve Alban Tineo — an internationally recognized leader, financier, and entrepreneur. The event was designed for executives and entrepreneurs seeking to develop competencies in leadership, negotiations, and strategic management.

Steve Alban Tineo brings over 20 years of experience in diplomacy, banking, finance, sports, and media. He has held senior positions at Credit Suisse First Boston and HSBC and served as an advisor to global leaders and diplomats. Currently, he is a visiting professor at KROK Business School, where he teaches negotiation courses for the Master’s program in Mediation and Conflict Resolution, as well as “Basic Skills of a Mediator.”

During the workshop, the speaker highlighted the importance of self-awareness as a fundamental competency of a modern leader and emphasized the role of asking questions — not as a measure of knowledge, but as a tool for professional thinking and effective communication. A separate segment focused on the nature of conflicts and the role emotions play in their escalation. Through practical examples, Steve demonstrated how to remain calm in challenging interactions and presented behavioral models that help neutralize tension, including the contrast between aggressive reactions and responses in a positive tone.

The open discussion format ensured active participant engagement and a high level of interest in the topics covered. Students gained valuable practical tools for personal development, emotional management, and effective conflict resolution.

KROK Business School extends its gratitude to all participants and especially to Steve Alban Tineo for sharing his knowledge and expertise with our students!
