Practice, Simulations, and Real Cases: How Study Weekends Unfold in the "Mediation and Conflict Management" Program

An active educational process continues for students of the "Mediation and Conflict Management" Master's program at KROK Business School. Our students consistently prove that weekends can be spent with maximum benefit for their own professional development. Training traditionally takes place in a format of deep immersion in practice: analyzing real cases and finding solutions in situations where others usually just get "stuck".

Last weekend, the group focused on three key disciplines:

  • Strategy and Tactics of Negotiations (Instructor: Vadym Rakhlis). The course is dedicated to the negotiation process in conditions of high tension and uncertainty. Through interactive simulations and discussions, students practice skills in reducing aggression and establishing contact with "difficult" interlocutors. A special focus is on navigating difficult conversations (for example, in situations of dismissal or external pressure), maintaining professional authority in crisis conditions, and reaching agreements without escalating the conflict or losing business relationships.
  • Litigation and Arbitration (Instructor: Ihor Okuniev). Understanding legal mechanisms is the foundation of a company's security. Students continue to analyze effective tools for judicial and out-of-court dispute resolution. This knowledge is an integral part of comprehensive conflict management for the reliable protection of business interests at the highest level.
  • Research in Modern Management (Instructor: Diana Lievchenko). This weekend marked the successful launch of a new course. Students began to master the logic of scientific inquiry in the field of mediation: from correctly formulating a problem to choosing appropriate methods. The main value of the course is the close practical connection of research with real problems in conflictology. This will become a solid foundation for the preparation of high-quality master's projects.

Mediation is a new culture of interaction that teaches how to hear opponents' positions, work with emotions, and build win-win solutions without destructive pressure.
