On November 8, 2024, the 7th National SME Forum “Uniting for Recovery” took place, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, with the support of the Swiss Confederation and the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine. Representatives of KROK Business School participated in the Forum – Olga Karpova, Executive Director, Tetyana Mosiychuk, Dean, and Nataliya Kalinina, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Innovative Development. The Forum participants were welcomed by Gennadiy Chyzhykov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, John Denton, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce, Jaco Cilliers, UNDP Representative in Ukraine, and Olena Shulyak, Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Forum included panel discussions on topics such as Economic Revival: How to Support SME Resilience, “Made in Ukraine” – Government Policy for SMEs. During the Forum, the results of the Sustainable Business Platform by UNDP, the results of international technical support for entrepreneurship by the USAID mission, the EU Delegation to Ukraine, UNDP, and others were presented. SME representatives shared the results of projects that received assistance and grants under the programs “Own
Business,” “Support for Relocated Enterprises,” “Women Entrepreneurs in the Agro-Food Sector,” “Inclusive Development, Recovery, and Peacebuilding,” and others.
Ukrainian SME representatives emphasized the need for continued donor support, while also recommending that government structures pay more attention to and optimize tax legislation and other regulatory and legislative acts. The Forum became an excellent platform for exchanging important information, networking, understanding the needs of SMEs in support, and what is valuable for the Business School in training and education.
