On October 8, KROK Business School hosted a substantive online guest lecture for General MBA and Master's students, as well as for all interested attendees. The event was dedicated to discussing global investment trends and prospects for the Ukrainian economy in the context of post-war reconstruction.
The special guest of the event was Jung Hong - Partner at the international consulting firm Oliver Wyman in Private Equity and the firm's Portfolio Operations.
During the meeting, the expert shared deep analytics and covered a range of key topics:
- Private Equity Fundamentals: how the investment lifecycle process functions on a global level.
- Post-War Reconstruction Indicators: exactly what factors attract private capital after crisis periods and what guarantees are necessary for international investors.
- The Scale of Reconstruction: the realistic assessment of Ukraine's recovery needs through the eyes of leading international consultants.
- Industrial Potential: Ukraine's place in global nearshoring processes for the automotive market and heavy machinery as one of the key drivers of our economic resilience.
Following the main lecture, attendees had the opportunity to interact with the speaker. The event generated great interest, and the topic proved so deep that participants requested the recording for detailed further study.
Attendee Anastasiia Poletaieva shared her impressions of the meeting: "I thank the university and Mr. Hong for the opportunity of this meeting. It was a very interesting experience. I had never met people engaged in this kind of business before. The speaker openly shared his thoughts, numbers, and experience. This information helped me understand this type of activity, as well as how investors view Ukraine and what opportunities exist for entering the foreign market. I received a substantive answer to my question, which I think will help me in the future. Despite the fact that many of us were without power and exhausted, everyone took away something extremely useful. I hope Mr. Hong will find the time to share something else with us someday. On that day, we will be one hundred percent ready!"
