Timing 90 minutes, including Q&A
The client has a legal problem – what should a mediator do? How should a manager guide a person in a conflict? When is a lawyer's consultation needed and how will it help prepare for mediation?
Working with conflict, a mediator or manager often faces issues that require legal assistance. It is important to recognize such a need in time, explain the available options to the person, and correctly refer them to a lawyer, maintaining professional boundaries.
Legal consultation helps the client to consciously participate in mediation and evaluate the consequences of agreements. At the practical workshop, we will consider how to combine the possibilities of the free legal aid system with conflict resolution work.
Using the case as an example, we will combine the discussed approaches into a sequence of actions that participants can use as a guideline in practice.
We will separately work through the practical algorithm "The client has a legal problem - what should the mediator do?" It will help to consistently determine the need for legal assistance, discuss it with the person, and refer them to the appropriate specialist.
