Professor Teece has visited Ukraine first time and KROK Business School became the only one among the educational institutions of Ukraine that hosted such a respected guest. Professor Teece delivered lecture on “DYNAMIC CAPABILITIES: Contemporary Triggers, Classical Antecedents, & Implications for the Theory of the Firm & Strategic Management”. Here is just one quote from his speech: "Neither the perfect product, nor the ideal business processes, does not guarantee your company success and will save you from failure. The manager must have intuition and the ability to anticipate the development of events. "Professor Tees shared his thoughts about the fact that the manager need understand and recognize the difference between risks and uncertainty in order to succeed in a competitive world, managers must become entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurs need to become managers. In his speech, Professor Tees emphasized the difference between operational and dynamic capabilities, which must be understood and accepted in the new conditions of a constantly changing world of business and innovation.

As the participants of the meeting noted, this was an informative lecture on complex things, giving information for reflection and rethinking.

Brief information about Prof. David J. Teece:

David J. Teece is Director of the Tacher Intellectual Capital Management Center, Dean of the Institute of Business Innovation, Director of the Center for Global Strategies and Management of the Haas Business School, University of California, Berkeley, the author of 6 books and numerous publications in leading international scientific and scientific-practical journals (Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, etc.).

The main contribution to management research was made in the field of strategic management theory (issues of diversification strategies, author of the concept of dynamic abilities of a firm), commercialization of technological innovations, management of intellectual capital and international business. Co-founder and co-editor of the Journal of Industrial and Corporate Change.

According to the citation index is one of the 10 most authoritative scientists in the world in the field of economic theory of the firm and management theory. According to Accenture, David J. Teece was named one of the world's 50 greatest intellectuals in business management. Honorary Doctor of the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark (2004), Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland (2004).

One of the founders (in the late 1980s) of LECG, one of the largest consulting groups in the United States (specializing in strategic consulting at the intersection of economic analysis and law, protection of intellectual property, strategies for creating and developing universities).
